The Challenge
Group travel coordinators, event organizers, and travel agencies juggled spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and multiple booking tools to manage trips and attendees. Itinerary changes weren't communicated in real time, emergency alerts for destination countries arrived too late (or not at all), and there was no centralized way to manage check-ins, job duties, or travel bookings for groups of any size.
Our Solution
We built Planiversity as a React Native mobile app with a Laravel backend, designed around group coordination rather than individual travel. The platform supports trip creation with day-by-day itinerary building, attendee management with check-in tracking, real-time emergency and travel alerts sourced from government APIs for 190+ countries, and a marketplace where travel agencies list bookable services. The app works offline for areas with limited connectivity, syncing changes when reconnected. Push notifications keep all group members updated on schedule changes, emergencies, or check-in reminders. An admin web panel gives organizers a bird's-eye view of all active trips, attendee statuses, and vendor bookings.
